About Anchor Beads...
In May 2014, my daughter, Georgia, was diagnosed with Leukemia. In the summer of 2015, she and I began making jewelry for fun. This led me to creating necklaces to sell as a hobby, while I donate a portion of the proceeds to childhood cancer research. When Georgia was hospitalized in the PICU before Thanksgiving and was diagnosed with a rare and aggressive secondary HLH Syndrome, my hobby became my therapy while she was on life support. I longed for her to wake up so she could see how the popularity of "Anchor Beads" had spread from friends, family, nurses, doctors and strangers! I knew this would be something she would love helping me do, as we were told she had an incredibly long road ahead being in the hospital. On December 10, 2015 Georgia entered the gates of Heaven and was forever healed. Her life on this Earth left quite an impression on many and brought them closer to our Heavenly Father.
One way I am honoring her life, is by creating this jewelry to help raise money for childhood cancer which affects so many. The name "Anchor Beads" was derived from our favorite verse we have clung to since the day of her Leukemia diagnosis. Hope Anchors the Soul... Hebrews 6:19. Georgia always said her favorite word was "Anchor." 10% of the proceeds will be given to Childhood Cancer Research in memory of Georgia. Thank you for your support!
